Background
Because of the prominent location on the corner of Broadway and Cook Street, the First United Methodist Church has remained a beacon of faith and community in Santa Maria since 1873. The iconic stained-glass windows of this historical landmark have cast a kaleidoscope of brilliant light over baptisms, weddings, memorials, and weekly worship as well as bringing pride to passersby each day – by connecting us to those who came before and inspiring those who will follow.
We encourage you to learn about each of the nine windows and their origin story above or by coming to any Sunday service at 10:00 a.m. to view these magnificent wonders and learn about some of the original families in our valley who donated each window.

Purpose
Today, these treasured windows need our care. Time and weather have taken their toll and restoration is essential to preserve their beauty and meaning for years to come.
By giving to the Stained Glass Restoration Fund, you’re not just repairing glass – you’re honoring our heritage and establishing our legacy for future generations. Every gift, large or small, helps to ensure that the light of faith continues to shine brightly through these windows for centuries to come. Your donation will help preserve the artistry, history, and spirit of our church home. Together, we can keep our windows glowing with the same faith and love that built them.
